Yunlang Launches Another Book-Shaped Mooncake Gift Box – Eye-Catching with Picture Book and Antique Wood Carving Styles

Since last year, the Yunlang Tourism Group has been offering mooncake gift boxes designed in the shape of Western hardcover books, which have received high praise. This year, they have released a picture book-style "Yunlang Moon in the Book" priced at NT$680 per box, and an elegant European-style premium mooncake gift box, the "Junpin Moon in the Book," priced at NT$2,800 per box. Pre-orders for both Mid-Autumn mooncake gift boxes are now open until September 27. Additionally, the Sun Moon Lake Hotel (Les Suites Hotel, Sun Moon Lake) has introduced this year a premium Dong Ding Oolong Tea paired with four varieties of nourishing and traditionally Chinese-flavored Mid-Autumn mooncake gift boxes.

This year’s “Yunlang Moon in the Book” features a hardcover book-shaped outer box, with its cover designed in soft tones and hand-drawn illustrations that depict a little girl hanging her dreams high, symbolizing the passing on of happiness. Catering to modern health-conscious preferences, the four flavors offer moderate sweetness: Mushroom Braised Pork with Egg Yolk, Date Paste with Pine Nuts, Longan and Pineapple, and Red Bean Paste with Egg Yolk. The Guang-style mooncake gift box “Yunlang Moon in the Book” is now available for pre-order and can be purchased at Junpin, Yunpin, Hanpin (Xinzhuang, Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, Hualien), Zhaopin (Miaoli, Chiayi), Yipin Xinzhuang, and Pinhuayuan.

The “Junpin Moon in the Book” outer box design continues the concept of East-meets-West fusion, presenting the mooncake packaging as a solid and weighty antique European-style wood-carved book-shaped box. It includes three traditional Guang-style mooncake flavors: Date Paste with Egg Yolk, Pine and Cranberry, and Pineapple with Mango and Walnuts. Zhaopin Taichung has also launched this year’s “Full Moon Gift Box,” which, besides classic egg yolk pastry and signature mini mooncakes, adds mung bean this year.


The Sun Moon Lake Hotel (Les Suites Hotel, Sun Moon Lake) has introduced a classic Mid-Autumn mooncake gift box this year, themed “Red Jade Reflects the Moon · Moon Reunion.” In addition to the hotel’s classic mooncakes — lotus seed paste with egg yolk, Taiwanese-style classic red bean paste with braised pork, warming and nourishing red dates with longan, and “red wine cranberry” — it is paired with the area’s specialty, Sun Moon Lake’s premium Red Jade Oolong Tea.
