New Inn – Fuxing North Road Branch is located next to Zhongshan Junior High School Station on the Taipei Metro. It’s just a 2-minute walk straight ahead from Exit Right, and its proximity to Songshan Airport makes it very convenient for out-of-town travelers. The entire building took three years to complete and was constructed using exposed concrete, paired with a soft yellow aesthetic that balances cool minimalism with warmth. After being masterfully designed by renowned curator and designer Chen Junliang, it has transformed into a fresh, minimalist, and Zen-inspired inn. With its affordable pricing, it has become a new favorite among travelers seeking budget-friendly accommodations.

The entire building features five major themes, each spread across five floors and conceived by five different artists. There are a total of 120 rooms inside, each with a unique message left by Master Chen Junliang—no two are alike. Below is an introduction to the room types:

The hallways feature paintings and photographic artworks that add a humanistic touch. The photo of old Taipei evokes nostalgic memories for visitors.

The entire building is constructed with exposed concrete, which offers natural insulation—keeping it warm in winter and cool in summer. However, in Taiwan, exposed concrete is prone to moisture, so a waterproof coating has been applied. Surprisingly, this also gives the concrete walls a smoother texture. The small bubbles on the walls are a unique effect resulting from the manufacturing process in Taiwan and have thus been embraced as a distinctive feature.

The double rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light. With a cozy space of about 7 pyeong, guests can enjoy a homely feeling even while traveling.

The triple room is a 3+1 bed configuration, and the bathroom is designed with a dry-wet separation layout. The end of the bed faces the scenery outside the floor-to-ceiling window, allowing guests to wake up to bright, refreshing daylight.

The bathrooms feature dry-wet separation and provide antibacterial hand soap. Some have separate shower and bathtub areas, while others combine them.

New Inn Fuxing North Branch officially opened on September 8th, marking the 11th branch of the Taipei Inn Group. The main design theme combines gray and yellow tones, balancing cool austerity with warm yellow for a stylish yet inviting atmosphere. Double rooms start at around NT$2,080, making it a new favorite among budget-conscious travelers. By renovating an old hotel and integrating local Taiwanese cultural creativity, New Inn Fuxing North Branch delivers a fresh visual and spatial experience, breathing new life into the architecture.
