Minister of Transportation Chen Jianyu announced on the 12th that high-speed rail ticket prices will be reduced starting December 1st. He also confirmed that there is absolutely no problem with the opening of three new high-speed rail stations on December 1st. At that time, the ticket price from Taipei to Kaohsiung will be reduced from NT$1,630 to NT$1,490.

The three new high-speed rail stations in Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin will be launched on December 1st. The high-speed rail will also undergo its largest timetable revision since its launch, and train operation modes will be divided into three major categories: non-stop, skip-stop, and all-stops. This increases the current four methods to eight.

After the addition of the three stations, the number of high-speed rail stations will increase from the current eight to eleven, and the weekly number of services will rise from 954 to 964. The high-speed rail stated that the Taipei–Zuoying non-stop service will still maintain a travel time of 96 minutes, but future services stopping at all 11 stations will take 18 minutes longer than the current two-hour trip.
