The 2015 "Sun Moon Lake International Ten Thousand People Swimming Event" will be held on the 19th and 20th. The event is divided into two categories: competitive and challenge groups. On the 19th, 100 competitors will take on a 5,000-meter swim, while the challenge group will see 900 participants compete over a 3,000-meter course.On the 20th, tens of thousands will take to the water— friends and family are welcome to come to Nantou to cheer them on.

Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen said at 3 PM on the 14th on Facebook: "Swimming across Sun Moon Lake is an annual highlight. I want to pay tribute to all the challengers, because Sun Moon Lake lets us see the brave among us — both in the past and now."

The number of participants registering for the "Ten Thousand People Swim Across Sun Moon Lake" has hit record highs year after year. For example, in 2012, it attracted 28,390 participants and also brought in over 60,000 tourists, later becoming the largest and most historic large-scale sporting event in Nantou. The 2015 swim event is set to be even more exciting and anticipated.
