Hong Kong’s Halloween Carnival Month Kicks Off in 2015 – Get Ready for a Frightening Good Time

In October, Hong Kong rolls out its “Halloween Carnival Month,” where hotspots like Hong Kong Ocean Park, Hong Kong Disneyland, and malls throughout the city stage spooky-themed events. On the streets of Lan Kwai Fong, you’ll often spot oddly dressed ghosts and monsters, offering a super realistic, thrilling, and fascinating experience. Travel operators have also launched exclusive private events at Hong Kong Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland, allowing Taiwanese tourists to be among the first to enjoy the festive Halloween fun in Hong Kong.

Lan Kwai Fong
The area hosts dark-themed parties, with various bars and restaurants offering themed food and entertainment. On October 31, a grand Halloween party will take place, unleashing all kinds of creepy creatures. You can also test your courage at the “Fear Chamber” in Lok Fu Plaza, taking on a ten-level horror challenge, or hop on the “Mad Driver” to head up to Peak Galleria to celebrate the day with Pac-Man.

Hong Kong Ocean Park
From October 2 to November 1 (select dates), the park presents the “Halloween Bash All-Day Festival.” With one entry ticket, you can enjoy daytime and nighttime fun across “8 haunted houses and 10 different experiences.” This year, the park introduces “H15,” playing on the well-known local fear of “the seventh day after death.” Visitors will lie alone on a bier while “funeral directors” guide them through a funeral featuring their own “portrait,” before heading straight into the underworld. The event will also feature elements from the globally popular series “The Walking Dead,” where guests will face extreme panic as zombies swarm the town, prison, and terminal — all recreated from scenes in the show.

There’s also the “Doraemon Halloween Movie City,” where Doraemon, along with Doraemi, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo, make their first-ever Halloween-themed appearances in Hong Kong. Together, they’ll star in a Halloween movie shoot. The longest outdoor Halloween ride in Hong Kong, the “Little Pumpkin Candy Hunt,” lets kids take part in prize-winning mini-games. Plus, there’s the newly introduced inflatable obstacle course “Bio Mutant Mayhem,” where children tackle a 40-meter course full of hurdles to reach the finish line.

Hong Kong Disneyland
From October 2 to October 31 (Fridays to Sundays), the park presents “Halloween Time – Mystery of the Vanishing City,” offering a brand-new outdoor scare experience. The park opens daily at 6 PM and extends its hours until 11 PM. Themed food and meal sets will be available, along with over 70 themed merchandise items. Additionally, the ever-popular Main Street, U.S.A. will be beautifully decorated. Mickey Mouse and other Disney friends will join Disney Bear ShellieMay — in her first-ever Halloween outfit — for a spooky parade, inviting guests to join the celebration.

This year, visitors can explore three major themed areas: “Mystic Manor,” “Grizzly Gulch,” and “Jungle River Cruise – Curse of the Lost Idol.” When night falls, ancient curses echo through the haunted city, creating a fully immersive atmosphere.

Travel agencies are also offering exclusive limited-time value packages, featuring VIP early park access, round-trip transfers, and premium reserved entry. Lion Travel offers a 3-day, 2-night stay for four people in a twin room starting from NT$4,999 (before tax), with September 25 being a special VIP day that allows entry until 11 PM, early access to Halloween rides, and hotel-to-park shuttle service.

Additionally, Cola Tour offers Taiwan’s only early-bird ticket for September 27 (Mid-Autumn Festival), with a 3-day, 2-night twin-room stay for four people starting from NT$10,999 (including tax). On that day, guests can enjoy premium early entry at 5:30 PM until 11 PM and be among the first to try the “Vanishing City” scare experience.
