50 yukatas to wear for free!“2015 Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival” kicks off

The 2015 Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival has now begun. This year not only features a retro market and free guided tours of the hot spring town, but the organizers have also prepared more than 50 yukata outfits for visitors to try on, allowing travelers to stroll through the nostalgic hot spring town in yukata.

In Japanese onsen culture, wearing a yukata is a key feature of hot spring areas. This year’s Guanziling Hot Spring Festival specially incorporates the yukata element, running from now until October 25.The organizers have set up a “Yukata Trial Experience” next to the Dacheng Hall Tourist Service Center. In addition to over 50 regular yukata styles, the renowned fashion brand UNIQLO is also providing limited-edition yukatas designed by Takehisa Yumeji and Jun’ichi Nakahara for visitors to try on for free.。

From now until October 25, the 2015 Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival will feature a variety of activities including a cooking competition, yukata experience, retro market, fireworks party, and guided tours. The Xinying Bus also adds extra services on weekends (including public holidays) during the event period—Xinying–Baihe, Baihe–Guanziling, and Guanziling loop bus routes—with six trips per day, taking visitors to Taiwan’s only mud hot spring and offering a unique bathing experience.
