Taipei’s First 5-Star Hotel Offers Free Venue for Student Microfilms

For students making microfilms, one of the biggest concerns is the lack of funding to secure a venue. The Richmonde Hotel in Taipeioffersits hotel spacesto film and art studentsfor shooting films. Any scene—facilities, restaurants, guest rooms—can serve as a backdrop for student films, and the on-site crew also enjoys a 20% discount on meals in the hotel restaurant on the day of the shoot.

Ding Dun-tzu, marketing and PR director of The Richmonde Hotel, said that currently, The Richmonde Hotel in Taipei is likely the first among the city’s star-rated hotels to offer its venue for free to students filming microfilms. The hotel is willing to support microfilm production projects, hoping to promote both the hotel and its facilities. Currently, this program is only available to enrolled students for non-commercial microfilm projects.
