Inya Lake is an artificial lake built by the British colonial government in 1882 and completed in 1883 to supply water to Yangon. Today, Inya Lake Park, covering an area of 37 hectares, has been developed on the southwestern side of the lake near Yangon University. Lush with trees and alive with birdsong, the park is a popular dating spot for university students. It has also hosted many famous cultural festivals in Myanmar, such as the novel festival, film festival, and singing festival. Additionally, visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, and sailing here.
