Yangon
Yangon is situated on the banks of the Yangon River in the Irrawaddy Delta and is Myanmar’s largest city and the capital of Yangon Region. Before November 6, 2005, Yangon served as the capital of Myanmar. On that date, the capital was moved to Naypyidaw.

Yangon is a beautiful coastal city with a tropical charm, featuring lush greenery and blooming flowers all year round, earning it the nickname "Garden City." Wide, straight streets are lined with vibrant flower beds and tree-lined sidewalks, offering breathtaking natural scenery that allows visitors to feel connected to nature at all times. The architecture in Yangon combines traditional Burmese styles with numerous Western-style buildings, creating a perfect blend of tradition and modernity that is one of the city’s most captivating features. Within the urban area, there are two scenic lakes — Kandawgyi Lake and Inya Lake — both with crystal-clear waters shimmering under the sunlight, resembling two gleaming green gemstones.

Yangon is home to countless stupas, either gilded or made of white stone. Among them, the most famous is the globally renowned Shwedagon Pagoda, which stands as Yangon’s most iconic landmark and is considered a source of pride by the Burmese people. Other notable attractions include St. Mary's Cathedral, Bogyoke Aung San Market, Yangon Zoo, the National Museum of Myanmar, the Myanmar Gems Museum, and the Planetarium.
