Former Residence of Comrade Mao Zedong in Yingqian

On January 13, 1929, Chairman Mao led the Fourth Red Army from Ciping, passing through Zu’an and Sanjiacun, crossing Jinping, and arriving in Yingqian here. In the afternoon, Comrade Mao Zedong met with He Fangwen, head of the underground Party in Yingqian, at the Chen Family Ancestral Hall in Benghe, Xiangya Village, Yingqian. In the evening, Chairman Mao convened a meeting of officers at the company level and above. Key leaders of the underground Party from counties such as Shangyou, Nankang, Chongyi, and Suichuan attended the meeting. Chairman Mao warmly received the attendees and delivered an important speech. He provided a detailed and scientific analysis on major issues including armed struggle, land revolution, and the establishment of revolutionary bases—the three-in-one strategy of “workers’ and peasants’ armed secession.” Theoretically, he resolved doubts among some comrades about “how long the red flag can keep flying,” strengthened their ideological resolve, and pointed out the correct path for the revolution. That night, Chairman Mao stayed here—in the Wanshou Palace in Yingqian. The next day, at the break of dawn, he led his troops onward, passing through Xiawan and Huangkeng in Yingqian, on to Jieba in Chongyi. Soon after, the revolutionary base centered around Ruijin was established in southern Jiangxi and western Fujian.
