Standing at the pass and looking southeast, you can see Liu Xiangqian standing tall; looking northwest, you’ll take in the gentle slopes of Taping Village, the flowing Zizhu River, the distinct inner valley within the larger valley, and the faint outline of Shanbao Cave. Tianmenya is known for its strikingly unique peaks, often shrouded in mist and clouds. Snow begins to accumulate here in October and melts by May of the following year. Ever-changing seasonal sights include phenomena such as “Clouds Scattering and Rain Falling,” “Emerald Glow Spitting Pearls,” “Morning Frost on Dragon Boat Festival,” “Mid-Autumn Auspicious Snow,” and the rare appearance of a “Buddha’s Halo.”
Tianmenya sits at an altitude of 2,328 meters and is 12 kilometers from Hongping.
To the southwest, it borders Donggou and Haofang.
To the northeast, it faces Yanziya across the way.
