Steepwater Buddha Waterfall
To visit the Buddha Waterfall, start from Doushui Market, pass by Guizhu Villa, and follow the walking trail — it’s about a 20-minute hike. The Steepwater Buddha Waterfall has a curtain nearly 10 meters wide and a drop of over 30 meters. The thundering sound of the waterfall gently reaches your ears as the water crashes against the rocky cliff, sending up showers of splashing droplets and creating misty waves that reach the sky, occasionally giving rise to faint, fleeting rainbows. Deep within the waterfall, there is a natural pool known for its crystal-clear, ice-cold waters — locals call it the Ice Water Pool. Looking up at the cascading waterfall, it resembles a Buddha sitting facing east, chanting scriptures and striking a wooden fish, which is why it’s called the Buddha Waterfall.
