　　The Maergou Rock Carvings are situated on the cliffs at the mouth of Maergou, approximately 1 kilometer southeast of the Wulanbahai Coal Mine and 12 kilometers northeast of downtown Wuhai City in Inner Mongolia. The rock carvings are densely distributed along the southern cliffs.

　　Maergou is one of the grand canyons of the Zhuozi Mountain range. The rock carvings here also exhibit strong elements of primitive religious culture, serving as a sacred site for ancient nomadic peoples' worship rituals.
