Xishuangbanna Monkey Mountain
Xishuangbanna Monkey Mountain serves as a research and experimental base of the Yunnan Primate Research Center of the China Experimental Animal Resources Platform. It is home to 14 species of Class I and II nationally protected rare primates. Located in the eastern suburbs of Jinghong City, at the confluence of the Lancang River and Liusha River, it neighbors the former site of the Xuanwei Mansion (the Mengle Imperial Palace ruins) and is just 4 kilometers from the urban area. The park highlights two main features: primate exhibits and historical-cultural landscapes. Visitors can take cable cars and ride rapids amid lush groves, towering ancient trees, echoing ape calls, birdsongs, and floral fragrances — all reflecting the perfect harmony between humans and nature.
