Manmai Sangkang Scenic Area is located over 40 kilometers from Jinghong City and consists of Golden Lake and Silver Lake. In the Dai language, Manmai Sangkang means “the village of festivals.” Set against the backdrop of Dai historical space, with blue skies and white clouds as its curtain and vast green mountains and waters as its stage, the area presents the vibrant and rich ethnic atmosphere and customs through a live performance team of 500, recreating the traditional folk culture of the Water-Splashing Festival in Xishuangbanna for visitors.
Manmai Sangkang offers a comprehensive display of Dai ethnic festive activities. The Water-Splashing Festival is the most grand celebration of the Dai people, mainly featuring folk activities such as dragon boat racing, launching firework rockets, market fairs, and water splashing.
