Covering a total area of 129 square kilometers, Fuman Ecological Valley boasts abundant wildlife resources, with over 1,400 species. The land is rich in natural beauty and treasures, and the people are extraordinary with many fascinating tales.
The origin of the name “Fuman” (meaning “Abundance of Blessings”) is steeped in good fortune. Legend has it that long ago, a fairy visited the area and was so captivated by its beauty that she composed a poem: “The mountains are lush, the waters clear, the scenery fresh and new; / A riot of colors bloom as spring renews. / Why is there such paradise on earth? / I hope this blessed valley remains for generations.” Just then, a kind and simple young man named Daqin happened by, and the two struck up a conversation. Pointing to the confluence of three streams, Daqin said, “Where three streams merge into one, blessings fill the valley.” The fairy joyfully replied, “Then let this place be called Fuman!” Daqin agreed cheerfully, “Fuman—it’s perfect!” And so, the name “Fuman” spread.
As time passes, Fuman Ecological Valley has grown in fame. It has become a national-level agricultural tourism demonstration area and a stunning highlight along the Changbai Mountain travel route.
