The unveiling ceremony of Chunfeng Pavilion was held on the afternoon of March 12, 1996, presided over by then-Governor of Hong Kong, Chris Patten.
The three Chinese characters “春风亭” (Chunfeng Pavilion) on the horizontal plaque are calligraphy works by renowned traditional Chinese painting master Florence Yeh (mother of Anson Chan), while inside the pavilion are three inscribed stone tablets. The central one is the memorial tablet for the unveiling ceremony presided over by the Governor. The two side tablets feature bilingual inscriptions (Chinese and English) written by the then-Director of Education of Hong Kong, Rosanna Wong, detailing the incident. In front of the pavilion are planted two Podocarpus macrophyllus trees.
Chunfeng Pavilion is located at the second stop of the Pat Sin Leng Nature Trail within Pat Sin Leng Country Park. It can be reached by ascending the stone steps from the entrance water channel. The pavilion stands with its back against the continuous peaks of Pat Sin Leng and faces the Shing Mun Reservoir.
