Jim Jim Falls
Jim Jim Falls is situated in Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. It is believed that 140 million years ago, much of the park lay beneath a shallow sea. Over time, cliffs formed sea walls, and the Arnhem Land Plateau rose above sea level as flat terrain.

Today, those ancient sea cliffs have been uplifted to become the towering cliffs from which Jim Jim Falls cascades. Located 60 kilometers along the Kakadu Highway, the falls plunge over 200 meters down sheer cliffs into a deep gorge. The white water rushes down with tremendous force, like a mighty army on the move, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle. During the wet season, Jim Jim Falls displays its full power, with massive torrents and thunderous roars that can be seen and heard from afar. In the dry season, however, the falls transform into a gentle trickle, resembling a delicate nymph—completely different from their rainy-season persona.

Jim Jim Falls has become one of the most worthwhile attractions in Kakadu National Park and is the most spectacular waterfall. It flows year-round, ensuring an unforgettable experience no matter when you visit.
