The stage was built in the second year of the Zhi Zheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1322) and underwent two major renovations, one in the 16th year of the Qianlong era (1761) and another in the 20th year of the Jiaqing era (1819) of the Qing Dynasty.

The stage structure is divided into a front performance area and a backstage, with the front section being 4 meters wide and the back 2.6 meters wide. The eaves feature bracket sets with a 15-degree slant. At the center of the stage ceiling hangs a plaque inscribed with the characters “Bao Lin Po Ya” (Preserving the Forest of Cranes and Pines).
