Bukuli Mountain Forest Park

Bukuli Mountain is situated 10 kilometers west of Jiangyuan Town, on the northern bank of the Mudan River, and belongs to Shiba Dao Gou Village. Daiyun Peak stands at an altitude of 863 meters and spans an area of approximately 5 square kilometers. The mountain is cone-shaped, resembling a round hat, which is why locals also call it "Hat Mountain." Bukuli Mountain stands solitary and lush, home to a variety of wild vegetables and valuable medicinal herbs such as ginseng. With clouds swirling around its summit and breathtaking scenery, the mountain is also steeped in beautiful legends that add to its charm.

The mountain is covered with towering trees and dense foliage, belonging to the broad-leaved forest zone. A path winds through the mountain, varying in steepness with the terrain. Halfway up the mountain lies a natural stone staircase—each step ascending sharply with slopes exceeding 45 degrees. According to locals, wild ginseng can be found along the trail, with several to dozens of large ginseng plants emerging each year. It’s truly an enchanting mountain. Along the path stand three huge rocks, each over ten meters tall. These quartzite rocks are quite distinctive, featuring relatively flat surfaces. The summit of Daiyun Peak is a flat area of two to three hundred square meters, in the center of which stands a red-brick forest fire watchtower staffed during fire season. Climbing the tower offers a panoramic view—with mountains stretching as far as the eye can see, the Mudan River winding eastward like a shimmering jade ribbon, scattered villages and blooming flowers, fields, crystal-clear reservoirs, and verdant mountain ranges extending to the horizon. The vast views and stunning scenery are truly uplifting.

In summer, Bukuli Mountain is lush with green trees and filled with birdsong. Flowers and plants of every hue blanket the hills and valleys like a colorful carpet, where wild pheasants and mountain sparrows thrive. The harmony between flora and fauna creates a wonderful symphony of nature.

The summit of Bukuli Mountain features a roughly 50-meter-wide flat platform with a fire watchtower. Extending from the platform's northwest, southwest, and southeast are three mountain ridges with steep cliffs and towering rock walls and pillars, creating both danger and wonder—an awe-inspiring sight. When visiting Bukuli Mountain, you can experience the joy of picking wild vegetables and sample distinctive forest vegetables and local specialties.
