Ho Chi Minh's Former Residence

Ho Chi Minh's Former Residence is situated at No. 2 Liushi Road. It was originally the Nanyang Inn, a two-story brick-and-wood structure. In August 1942, Ho Chi Minh, then President of Indochina (Vietnam), came to China to connect with Vietnamese anti-Japanese revolutionary forces but was arrested by local authorities in Jingxi County. He was released from Liuzhou Prison in September 1943. From September 1943 to September 1944, Ho Chi Minh stayed at the Nanyang Inn, during which time he carried out a series of significant activities in Liuzhou. The residence today houses the desk, chair, wooden bed, and washbasin stand used by Ho Chi Minh, along with a large collection of manuscripts, photographs, and a bronze bust of Ho Chi Minh gifted by Vietnam. It was designated as a Autonomous Region-level Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 1997.
