The township where the scenic area is located, Xiangfen, is a land of talented people and profound historical culture. Xiangfen is known as the "Hometown of Moso Bamboo." In the past, the "Dafang" paper produced from moso bamboo was quite famous and even won a silver award at the 1918 Panama International Exposition. The beautiful name of the township, Xiangfen, has a certain historical origin (it is said that during the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, some merchants from other places came here to make incense powder using fragrant tree bark, hence the name). Coupled with the traditional Xiangfen Gulongpo Festival, held twice a year on the 16th day of the first and eighth lunar months, it attracts many domestic and international tourists and enjoys fame both within and beyond the region.
The scenic area has been recognized as a "National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site" and a "Regional Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site," and is also one of the "Top Ten Beautiful Villages" in Liuzhou City. It is one of the main tourist attractions in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County.
