      Inuvik is a town in Canada's Northwest Territories and the administrative center of the Inuvik Region. It is situated on the eastern side of the Mackenzie River. As it lies within the Arctic Circle, the area experiences 56 days of midnight sun and 30 days of polar night each year.

      The most photogenic landmark in Inuvik is the Our Lady of Victory Church, also known as the "Igloo Church," which was completed in 1960. The town is home to North America’s northernmost mosque, which opened to visitors in November 2010. The Great Northern Arts Festival is the town’s biggest event, held annually since 1989. Starting in mid-July and lasting for 10 days, it attracts more than 1,800 artists from around the world.
