Han Tombs of Wangjiazhuang
Tour Guide The Han Tombs of Wangjiazhuang are situated in Wangjiazhuang, Shatangchuan Township, Huzhu Tu Autonomous County. Introduction Excavated between 1978 and 1979, the site includes a total of 10 cave tombs from the Han Dynasty. Each tomb consists of a burial chamber and a rectangular passageway. In addition, a small number of wooden-chambered tombs and brick-chambered tombs were also discovered. The funerary objects and human remains in the tombs are well-preserved, revealing three types of burials: husband-and-wife joint burials, multiple-person joint burials, and secondary burials.
The unearthed grave goods include pottery, bronze ware, chariot and horse ornaments, as well as Han Dynasty wuzhu coins. A jade ring was also found. The excavation of the Han Tombs of Wangjiazhuang has provided new materials for the study of the developmental history of China’s various ethnic groups.
