Poluo Rhododendron

The Poluo Suomaa flowers (Rhododendrons), covering an area of 100,000 mu in contiguous blooms, stretch across Bingdi Township, Jiayi Township, and Erjuexi Township. From late April to mid-June each year, the Suomaa flowers bloom in a riot of colors — fresh, vibrant, and brilliant reds — shining even more brilliantly under the sunlight. Visitors flock to the mountains to admire the Suomaa blossoms without end. Tourists and passing vehicles often place the flowers on their cars or weave them into girls’ braids, symbolizing good fortune, happiness, and the enjoyment of beauty — as if celebrating a “Suomaa Flower Festival.” Opposite the Forest Closure and Afforestation Monument, in the direction of Jinyang, there are several small hills, while in the direction of Siwo, there is a mountain pass about 200 meters wide, a 50-meter dam, and an irrigation reservoir (man-made lake) with a water surface area of over 1 million square meters.
