A-Ma Medical Temple
The A-Ma Medical Temple, located next to the Chek Lap Kau Factory and also known as "Ka Shin Tong," was built in the 26th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty. It underwent renovation between 1986 and 1987. Initially, it functioned as a charitable institution that provided free medical care and medicine to local residents, but it was later converted into a temple dedicated to the Medicine Deity. The site preserves two plaques commemorating the temple’s establishment: “Feng Yang Ren Feng” (Promoting Benevolent Virtue) and “Hai Guo Chang Chun” (Everlasting Spring of the Maritime Nation). One of these plaques was gifted by the Kiang Wu Hospital and dates back over 100 years, making it of significant historical value.
