青檀自然保护区

　　青擅自然保护区位于县境西南三楼乡牛邦口、花塔西村附近。总面积2.54万亩。该区属太行山系五台山文系。区内山峦重迭，青檀树生长集中，核心林区面积达0.9万亩。密度每亩30--110株，单株最高4.5米，胸径最粗10厘米，树龄在10--30年。该区周围有良好的自然环境。三楼河贯穿区内，河西岸有保存完整的明代长城和敌楼，还有穷水长流的红沙岭隧洞。花塔村是大同市境内海拔最低的地方，海拔558米，四面环山，河水绕

　　村，春秋两季鸟语花香，山青水秀，景色秀丽，故称之为“塞外江南”。1993年2月该区被山西省政府批准为灵丘青檀自然保护区。
