位于滨海路的东端，距市中心约9公里，是一处以山、海、岛、滩为主要景观的风景胜地。著名的棒棰岛国宾馆就座落在这里，我们敬爱的-总理、-委员长、-主席、-元帅，以及后来的-、-邦、-、-等国家领导人都在这里住过。
景区北部群山环绕，苍松翠柏；南面是开阔的海域和平坦的沙滩，在距海岸600米处，有一形似人参状的小岛，俗称棒捶岛。岛上岸崖陡峭，怪石嶙峋，山花野草遍及全岛。
