The "Casa Rosada" is the presidential palace of Argentina, designed in an Italianate style, with the entire building's walls painted in a rose color. It was here that former First Lady Eva Perón delivered her famous speech, and the scene in the movie "Evita," where American singer Madonna performed "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" on the iconic balcony, was specially permitted to be filmed at this very location. Today, the song has become world-famous, but the film has never been shown in Argentina because Argentinians disliked seeing their much-respected national mother portrayed by an American singer with a "questionable reputation."
