Fengxiang Lingshan Scenic Area

　　The Lingshan Scenic Area is situated on Lingjiu Mountain to the west of Fengxiang County, Baoji City. It derives its name from the legend that Duke Mu of Qin hunted here and encountered a spiritual bird known as the Lingshou. The Eight Scenic Spots of Lingshan include Meiziling, Sheshen Cliff, Kanbaishu (Viewing the Cypress Trees), Niutu Spring, the Iron Buddha inside the temple, the Big Cauldron, the Reclining Buddha statue, and Pavilion 0. The area is developed and integrated around the cultural themes of "prayer culture, celestial culture, Buddhist culture, pre-Qin culture, folk village culture, and landscape culture." Its main functions encompass "spiritual worship, landscape leisure, Buddhist culture sightseeing, folk culture experience, and landscape leisure vacation," making it a comprehensive tourist destination primarily focused on Buddhist cultural experiences. The scenic area is divided into three major functional zones: "Folk Culture Experience, Buddhist Culture Sightseeing, and Landscape Leisure Vacation," comprising eleven sub-areas (Folk Experience Zone, Entrance Zone, Lingshan Commercial Zone, Dongpo Mountain Landscape Zone, Temple Zone, Buddha Statue Veneration Zone, Celestial Culture Zone, Water Body Landscape Zone, Zen Monastery Resort Zone, Waterside Entertainment Zone, and Waterside Resort Zone). The development plan aims to establish Lingshan as the “No. 1 Buddhist Mountain in Northwest China” by 2020, through three phased stages: long-term, medium-term, and short-term.
