Attraction Introduction
The so-called "Hotel Street" refers to dozens of hotels of varying sizes and styles built along the north side of a newly constructed avenue after Turkmenistan gained independence. These hotels have been vividly likened to a string of pearls draped around Ashgabat’s neck. It is understood that many of these hotels were built by engineering teams sent by various countries to repay debts owed to Turkmenistan for unpaid natural gas supplies.
