Changbai Mountain Cold Spring
The Changbai Mountain cold spring is crystal-clear and sweet-tasting. Like the hot springs in the mountainous area, it is spread throughout the ——, resembling a string of radiant pearls embedded in the deep ——. Among them, the Changbai Medicinal Spring is the most famous cold spring in the tourist area.

It is located on the west bank of the Toutiao Baihe River, 17 kilometers from the Erdaohe Railway Station. The Medicinal Spring has five outlets, with water temperature maintained at around 8°C all year round. In the peak of summer, visitors can take a few sips here and experience a numbing and spicy sensation, earning it the reputation of "natural soda water." The Medicinal Spring contains elements such as strontium and lithium, and this type of mineral water is quite popular worldwide. Among them, the Changbai Mountain Hot Spring Sanatorium, located in Fusong County —— known as the hometown of ginseng in China —— in the heart of Changbai Mountain, is equipped with advanced medical facilities. It serves as a rehabilitation and health resort destination in Northeast China, integrating specialized medical treatment, hot spring bathing, eco-tourism, and resource development.

The Changbai Mountain tourist area boasts numerous cold springs, medicinal springs, and mineral springs with water temperatures below 25°C. Notable ones include: Golden Thread Spring, situated on the picturesque western shore of Tianchi Lake and the eastern slope of Yuzhu Peak. The spring water gushes out between two stone pillars from north to south, cascading down like a thread into Tianchi. Golden Thread Spring lies along the mandatory route when ascending Changbai Mountain from the western slope to Tianchi. The spring water flows gently, crystal clear, with white pumice stones embedded at the bottom, exuding clarity. By the spring and lakeside, there is also the scenic spot Zuzuoshi (Foot-Washing Stone) for visitors to enjoy.

Yujian Spring is located on the eastern side of Yuzhu Peak, about 350 meters from Tianchi. The spring outlet is relatively large, approximately 50 meters in length from east to west and 40 meters in width from north to south. The spring water gushes out from cracks in the stone cave, flows a short distance before going underground, and then resurfaces 20 meters from Tianchi, pouring into the lake. The spring water is crystal clean; drinking it cleanses the intestines and stomach, refreshes the mind, and offers a rich, mellow taste, reminiscent of fine jade nectar. A poem from ancient times reads: “If you come to Tianchi, be sure to fill your silver flask with Yujian.”

The Changbai Medicinal Spring is located on the west bank of the Toutiao Baihe River. Its five outlets are aligned in a row along the riverbank. The water temperature remains around 8°C all year. The medicinal spring water, like natural soda water, is cooling, thirst-quenching, and delicious, and can be consumed directly by visitors. The main components of the spring water are free carbon dioxide, bicarbonate, magnesium, sodium, and calcium. It has excellent therapeutic effects on conditions such as gastritis, indigestion, constipation, rheumatic myocarditis, and high blood pressure.
