The Dashuichuan Grassland is located in Xiari Village, Xiangquan Town, Chencang District, at an altitude of 1,900 to 2,300 meters, covering a total area of 60 square kilometers. The terrain is flat, water resources are abundant, and the forest is dense with expansive grasslands and excellent vegetation, creating picturesque scenery. The grassland hosts over 2,100 species of higher plants, including 110 species of ferns, and more than 40 kinds of valuable trees such as spruce, white-bark pine, and birch, along with over 160 types of wild medicinal herbs. The area also boasts a rich diversity of animal species. Protected animals such as golden pheasants, blood pheasants, tufted deer, serows, river deer, badgers, and foxes are commonly spotted. In the valleys, you can even easily catch several specimens of the Qinling scaleless trout, a second-class nationally protected fish. The forested region experiences minimal temperature variation throughout the year. Even when temperatures outside soar above 30°C in the peak of summer, the area remains pleasantly cool, making it an ideal spot for horseback riding, archery, hunting, and leisurely summer retreats.
