It is a cobblestone street named after the national hero of Argentina, San Martín, and runs through the heart of Ushuaia’s city center. San Martín Road is the city’s most bustling commercial street. There are no luxury department stores here—just gift shops, department stores, restaurants, and stores selling duty-free electronics produced in the local industrial zone, all lined up one after another along the street. Every shop is packed with an array of souvenirs, though the prices can be quite surprising.
