Flower World Ecotourism Zone
The Gengxin River Basin in Deqing features beautiful scenery and a talented populace, nurturing such scenic attractions as Panlong Gorge and Jinlin Water Village. To boost the mountainous economy and promote major tourism growth in Deqing, the county government has strategically leveraged its exceptional natural advantages, transforming them into resource, market, and economic strengths. In the middle and lower reaches of the Gengxin River, a 780-acre Flower World Ecotourism Zone has been planned, with a total investment of 20.5 million yuan.

Flower World Ecotourism Zone integrates scientific research, dining, entertainment, and leisure vacation. The area is divided into sections cultivating famous seasonal fruits, rare flowers, and precious medicinal herbs, creating an extraordinary realm where visitors can admire peach and plum blossoms in spring, lotus flowers in summer, maple leaves and chrysanthemums in autumn, and plum blossoms in winter—enjoying fruit all year round. Upon entering the scenic area, one is greeted by birdsong and fragrant blooms, with vibrant spring vibes at every turn. Each step reveals a picturesque scene, brimming with novelty, wonder, and cultural depth, offering both knowledge and excitement. Rare and exquisite flowers compete in a dazzling display, captivating visitors and leaving them reluctant to leave. Every tourist can find something they love and enjoy here—a true scene of “springtime boundless as the sea, and a flourishing era blooming like flowers.” The utopian paradise described by the great poet Tao Yuanming has become a reality here.

Deqing’s Flower World Ecotourism Zone emphasizes agricultural ecological benefits, applying theories from ecological economics, resource economics, market economics, and systems engineering to achieve scientific planning. By rehabilitating low hills, barren mountains, and abandoned ponds, it develops pollution-free "three-high" (high yield, high quality, high efficiency) agriculture and ecological farming. This effectively prevents soil erosion, improves the ecological environment, enhances land productivity, and establishes a virtuous cycle in agricultural production. It explores a successful path and provides valuable insights for comprehensive rural land development, increasing agricultural efficiency, boosting farmers’ incomes, and advancing rural economies.
