The gorge stretches over 50 meters in length, reaches 68 meters in height, and is only 4 meters wide. Its cliffs rise thousands of feet high, as if hewn by axes and chisels, squeezing the blue sky into a thin line. Walking through the gorge, you are greeted by refreshing breezes. As the saying goes: “A thousand-foot split divides east from west; south of the gorge grow pines, north of it, cypresses. At noon or midnight, the bright moon can be seen; gentle breezes blow softly all year through.”
A local poet, Liang Shangbi, wrote: “The gorge darkens, the sky seems small; winds rise, the heights press low. Cliffs clad in greenery merge as one; clear sounds linger on the breeze.” This poem captures its true essence.
