San Martín Park (Parque San Martín) was planned in 1897 and created by Carlos Thays. Covering an area of 420 hectares, the park is surrounded by about 50,000 trees. It features a large lake, a rose garden, and several sports centers offering a variety of activities such as tennis, rowing, and soccer. In addition, there is a zoo, as well as the famous Cerro de la Gloria (meaning "Hill of Glory") and its monument. The monument was built in honor of General San Martín’s army, heroes of Argentina’s struggle in South America.
From one side of the lake, you can see the vast expanse of water, while on the opposite shore rise mountains as high as 3,000 meters, creating a breathtaking view that lifts the spirit.
