Qianling Lake

Qianling Lake: Qianling Lake was formed in 1954 by damming the water of the Daluo Stream, covering an area of 28 hectares. In 1999, the municipal government increased investment in park construction, completing the dredging project of Qianling Lake. This increased the lake’s water storage capacity, reinforced the dam, and improved water clarity. Surrounded by verdant hills, the shimmering lake surface reflects the sparkling water. Boats dot the lake, gliding leisurely. The scenic harmony of lake and mountain offers a serene and elegant atmosphere. Arched bridges, waterside pavilions, green willows, and poplars enhance the picturesque landscape of Guizhou’s mountains and waters. The “Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs of the Liberation of Guizhou,” built in 1958, stands tall on the western shore of Qianling Lake. In 1999, the municipal government allocated special funds for its renovation. The monument’s railing was replaced with white marble, the plaza was paved with granite, the lakeside railing was upgraded to bluish-white marble, and the surrounding greenery was adjusted. Today, the monument appears even more solemn and dignified.
