Darmu Monastery is located within Biru County, in Chaqu Township. Its main structures consist of scripture halls, stupas, and a platform. It belongs to the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and houses over 30 monks.
The monastery primarily enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha and Palden Lhamo. What sets it apart is that Palden Lhamo has two faces—one representing good, which is beautiful and gentle, and one representing evil, which is fierce with a blue face and fangs. To the east of the monastery lies the Darmu Platform, established by Pema Peldar. It faces south with its back to the north. In the three rooms on the northern side, each contains a Nepalese-style stupa, and the doors and windows are adorned with multicolored prayer flags.
