Rechen Monastery
Rechen Monastery in Liangqu Township has a total of 1,055 small stupas (1,042 small stupas on the temple walls, 4 large stupas in the courtyard, 8 small stupas at the sky burial site, and 1 large stupa outside the courtyard). It was built in 1422 by Dabu Baima Baize. The stupas are divided into eight types (Bai Beng, La Pa, Se Duo, Gong Mu, Qiang Qu, Na Jia, Yan Tong, and Niang De). Among the 1,056 stupas, 13 have special significance, built respectively to subdue spirits, aid the rebirth of the deceased, promote abandoning evil and promoting good, invite deities, and commemorate Gabumei Ba.
