Huangshan Echo Wall
There is a scenic pavilion along the path to the east of the Flying-over Stone. Not far beyond the pavilion, on the flat ridge above the “Twin Dragon Pine,” you can see a steep cliff rising sharply on the opposite peak. When you shout toward this stone wall, the echo resounds through the valley and seems to go on endlessly — hence the name “Echo Wall.” This is the best spot in the mountain to experience an echo. Below it lies the Baiyun Grand Canyon, which is as deep as 100 meters, and the steep cliff faces you. If visitors shout here, the sound will bounce back from the peak and the deep valley, producing continuous echoes that bring wonder and endless amusement. This naturally formed echo wall surpasses any man-made one in terms of space, distance, and echo effect.
