Surrounded by towering mountains, Baritú National Park was created to protect the region’s vast expanse of lush cloud forest — a tract of woodland untouched and undisturbed by humans, retaining its most breathtakingly pristine, natural, and wild beauty. It is precisely this sense of wilderness and mystery that draws researchers, athletes, and adventurers to the park, where they embark on jungle expeditions, challenging and surpassing themselves.
This diverse Baritú National Park is home to 12 species of fish, 20 species of amphibians, 18 species of reptiles, 59 species of mammals, and countless species of birds. Visitors should be mindful of safety during their visit, as the park is also habitat to some dangerous wildlife, such as jaguars and ocelots.
