Cardonal National Park
Cardonal National Park is situated in the central-western region of Salta Province. Its name comes from the unique plant formations found in the area. Founded in 1995, the park spans 650 square kilometers and features rolling mountains, ravines, and canyons ranging in elevation from 2,700 to 5,000 meters, as well as a large number of giant cacti.

The national park boasts a uniquely beautiful landscape composed of vast grasslands, deep river valleys, lush forests, and the largest cacti in Argentina, all set against a backdrop of tropical arid climate scenery. The most striking sights are the towering cacti that stand proudly on the dry land, showcasing their stunning forms. Their diverse shapes are truly awe-inspiring—some resemble human fingers, others look like kneeling figures, and some appear as intimate couples, leaving visitors amazed. The park is also home to 100 species of birds, among which the Andean condor is one of the most iconic.

Due to its geographical diversity, Cardonal National Park offers a variety of recreational activities and attractions. Horseback riding, photography, birdwatching, exploration, and camping are particularly popular.
