The Stone Ancestor Rock is situated at the foot of Guandao Mountain, facing Jiaozhi Mountain across the Maochuan River. It features a pair of tall and striking karst stalagmites with peculiar and mysterious shapes, exuding a strong masculine energy. Behind the stalagmites lies a deep, unfathomable cave resembling a female genitalia, embodying feminine beauty. Locals refer to the stalagmites as "Stone Ancestor Father" and "Stone Ancestor Child," and the cave as "Stone Ancestor Grandmother." They believe these formations represent the male essence of Fuxi, the womb of Nuwa, and the symbol of ancestral lineage and reproduction for future generations. A local legend also tells the story of these rocks “coming together at night and separating at dawn.” It is said that when Wang Yangming visited the area and saw the rocks, he couldn’t help but recite Laozi’s “Tao Te Ching” to his disciples: “The mysterious female is the gateway of the universe,” to which his disciples responded by quoting from the “I Ching · Appended Statements”: “The universe is filled with vital breath, all things grow rich and strong; male and female unite in essence, all beings come into existence.” The Stone Ancestor Rock is an ancient totem of life and a living fossil that offers insight into the ancient reproductive beliefs of the Chinese nation and the folk culture of Guizhou. Some villagers nearby still maintain the custom of quietly worshiping the “Stone Ancestor Rock (Bird Ancestor).”
