The Rhinoceros Gazing at the Moon
Introduction "The Rhinoceros Gazing at the Moon" is situated on the mountaintop east of Armor Cave on the northern bank of the Yangtze River in the lower section of Fengxiang Gorge. Although the northern mountain is not high, its peaks are rugged and striking. From a distance, one can see a rhinoceros standing atop the hill, gazing toward the west—it resembles a rhinoceros looking at the autumn moon over Kuimen, hence the name "The Rhinoceros Gazing at the Moon." The "rhinoceros" is an iron-blue hue of mountain rock, which against the blue sky, looks like a silhouette hanging in the gorge.
