The Wannsee Conference was once regarded as the point where the Nazis decided to halt random deportations and unplanned killings of Jews and shift to large-scale genocide. Today, most historians believe that the decision for the genocide was actually made by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler himself several months before the Wannsee Conference. Nowadays, the former site of the Wannsee Conference has become a memorial and an educational base.
The villa was built between 1914 and 1915 and was originally the mansion of an entrepreneur. The conference hall of the villa has now been converted into an exhibition space, displaying detailed materials about the Wannsee Conference, helping people deeply understand the atrocities committed by the Nazis and remember this history.
