Sugarloaf Mountain is situated at the entrance of Guanabara Bay and is one of the iconic symbols of Rio de Janeiro. It consists of two peaks — one resembling an upright loaf of bread and the other a flat one — with the mountain’s smooth surface coated in what looks like stucco, hence the name “Sugarloaf.” Standing 394 meters tall, the summit offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Rio.
