The SCHOTT Glass Museum is located on the site of the "Glass Technology Laboratory" established by Otto Schott in 1884. This is the former villa of Schott—a two-story brick-red building. Here, you can explore the exciting history of SCHOTT’s products and technologies. Authentic exhibits, photographs, and film productions will take you into the innovative world of SCHOTT glass. Other displays document the company’s development—from its founding to the period of former East Germany, the reunification of Germany, and its rise as an international technology group. In the former villa of this celebrated scientist and industrialist, his vibrant life is vividly presented. The museum offers audio guides in both German and English. Entry is free for individual visitors, but group visits require advance booking. Opening hours are from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday.
