Yangmei Ancient Village Scenic Area

　　The Yangmei Ancient Village Scenic Area is situated in Sanhu Township, Laifeng County, about 20 kilometers from the county towns of Laifeng and Xianfeng, as well as from the Enshi-Laifeng Expressway and the Enshi-Qianjiang Expressway. It is renowned for its ancient village, ancient stockade, ancient yangmei (waxberry) trees, ancient roads, ancient tombs, ancient opera stages, ancient bridges, ancient temples, and ancient courtyards. Visitors can touch the weighty history of hundred-million-year-old stone forest clusters, marvel at the life miracle of thousand-year-old yangmei trees, explore the cultural relics along the ancient Bashan Salt Road, experience the rich culture of century-old traditional courtyard houses, and enjoy the sweet and sour yangmei fruits and authentic local specialties. The area combines rich Tujia ethnic culture, beautiful natural landscapes, and a leisurely rural farming experience, making it a top-tier rural tourism destination where “you can see the mountains, view the waters, and feel the nostalgia of home.” The planned area spans 2.5 square kilometers and is an eco-cultural tourism zone centered around ancient bridges, ancient roads, ancient tombs, ancient stone forests, ancient courtyards, ancient opera stages, ancient temples, and ancient yangmei trees in Huangbai and Shiqiao villages. The scenic area boasts over 14,000 acres of high-quality yangmei orchards, including more than 1,000 ancient yangmei trees aged over 100 years, with the oldest being around 1,200 years old. It is honored as the “No. 1 Yangmei Township in Hubei.”
