YouShui Ancient Town Baifusi
With small bridges over flowing streams and ancient trees offering shade, you can wander through the Tujia cuisine street surrounded by classic stilted houses in search of your favorite local delicacies. After the rain clears, a rainbow stretches across the sky as the Maoyandong Waterfall cascades down from the cliffs, nearly 200 meters high, resembling a Milky Way pouring down, creating a striking contrast with the green mountains and white rocks. As drums beat and gongs clang, locals in Shemihu perform the authentic Hand-Waving Dance in the thousand-year-old Shemihu Hand-Waving Hall to worship their three ancestors. The ancient Xing’an village courtyard, nestled against the mountains and hidden among ancient trees and green bamboo, appears and disappears amid the landscape, arranged in a charmingly staggered fashion, forming a beautiful scene of harmony between humans and nature. After a meal, take a leisurely walk along the marble-paved YouShui River Ecological Culture Corridor, where the gentle river breeze and the fragrance of osmanthus refresh the mind and soothe the soul.
